The 2022-23 regular season was nothing short of spectacular for the 2008 ECNL boys team.
The team went 10-0-4 in division action, one of only four U15 teams in the entire country to not be beaten in divisional competition.
The success didn’t come easy as they had a target on their backs after winning the division title last season. Last year’s feat marked the first time a boys team qualified for ECNL Nationals in club history.
The team finished the regular season with a 25-1-10 record. Along the way they won the Indiana Elite Fall Showcase, went unbeaten in the Winter ECNL Showcase in Saint Louis and the Ohio Elite College Showcase. They also went a perfect 3-0 without allowing a goal at the Crossroads of America College Showcase at Grand Park in April.
The boys were exceptionally devastating at the Pride Performance Center as they went 6-0-1 in seven home games, outscoring its opposition, 18-1 in those games with six shutouts.
On defense, the team was especially stout as they posted 21 shutouts in 36 games, while allowing only more than two goals in a game once all season. They finished with a 0.62 goals-against average in the 36 games. In addition, there were only six games during the year where the opposition scored more than one goal. In ECNL games, the boys gave up only seven goals, tied for the second lowest amount of any U15 boys team in the nation.
The boys will be back in action June 25 in Greensboro, North Carolina looking to break more records and make more memories. The boys will be the top seed in a group of four teams with the field being separated into 16 four-team pods. The 16 group winners will then face each other in a sweet 16 contest with the eight winners advancing to the ECNL Finals in Norco, California on July 14-17.
